Women, collaboration and innovation

At Slaughter and May we are celebrating International Women’s Day 2019 via an exhibition that celebrates the centenary of the Sex Disqualification (Removal) Act 1919, and features artwork created by the First 100 Years Project, including one of a limited edition of toilet rolls - reminding us that, for decades, women were prevented from getting a job in the legal industry because of a lack of female toilet facilities, among other things.

Other than our exhibition, we have lots more to celebrate today, including the recent launch of our Collaborate programme, led by an all female team, and the beginnings of a new collaboration between the firm’s Women’s and Innovation Networks looking at the topic of the future of work. We are also at the mid-point of our one year partnership with The Old Vic theatre, and our support of the massively successful production of SYLVIA - celebrating the life of Sylvia Pankhurst and her pivotal role in the campaign for women’s rights. The below video features highlights of our collaboration with The Old Vic to date and how we are working to support diversity and inclusion, not only on #IWD, but every day.
